Jaipur, February 15, 2026: A joyous wedding celebration in Jaipur turned into a shocking theft after a man posing as a guest allegedly stole a bride’s handbag containing cash and jewellery worth approximately ₹4 lakh, with the daring act captured on the venue’s photography camera.
The incident took place on February 7 during the wedding reception of Naveen Karol at Chandan One Marriage Garden in the Jagatpura area. The bride and groom were on stage at around 10:15 pm for photographs when the thief made his move amid the crowd of guests.
Brazen Act Caught on Camera
Footage obtained from a hired photographer’s live camera shows a well-dressed man, blending in effortlessly with the guests, walking up to the stage. In a matter of seconds, he calmly lifted the bride’s handbag, slipped it inside his blazer, and walked away into the crowd, all while the family and guests were engaged with the ceremony.
According to police and witnesses, the bag contained valuable jewellery and cash amounting to about ₹4 lakh a significant loss for the newlywed family.
The theft went unnoticed in the moment because relatives and attendees were focused on the celebrations and photoshooting. It was only after the session concluded that the bride realized her bag was missing. A search of the venue failed to locate the stolen items, leading the family to review the recorded footage.

Following the discovery, Nitin Karol, the groom’s brother, lodged a formal complaint with local police.
