Jaipur, 15 November: Leading his four-day visit to the city, Mohan Bhagwat, chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), paid a formal visit to the historic Govind Dev Ji Temple in Jaipur on Saturday, where he offered prayers and interacted with devotees and local culture-volunteers.
On arrival at the temple located within the City Palace complex, Bhagwat was greeted by local RSS functionaries and temple representatives. He observed the daily rituals and inspected the premises, emphasising the importance of cultural values alongside organisational work inside the state. He said that such religious centres do more than offer spiritual solace – they play a significant role in community cohesion and social outreach.
Speaking to devotees, Bhagwat highlighted the RSS’s commitment to service, ethics and youth engagement, linking them to the broader goal of cultural renewal. “Temples are not merely places of worship; they are points of social foundation and moral awakening,” he said. He appealed to younger generations to embrace moral and social responsibilities, underscoring that service to society and preservation of heritage go hand in hand.
The temple visit forms part of his larger itinerary in Jaipur, which includes sessions with volunteers, public addresses and book releases as part of the RSS’s centenary-year celebrations. Security and logistics were arranged in advance as the schedule is spread over November 12 to 16.
As Bhagwat’s tour continues, this visit to the temple underscores the blend of cultural symbolism and organisational outreach that marks the RSS’s engagements in the city.
