Jaipur, 30 November: A tragic accident on the Jaipur–Delhi Highway near Jamwaramgarh turned fatal on Sunday when a speeding truck collided head-on with a small car, killing four people and leaving four others seriously injured, police and local sources said.
The crash occurred around 1:30 pm near the Ratanpura stretch on the Dausa–Manoharpur (NH-148) section of the highway. According to investigating officers, the truck travelling from Manoharpur towards Dausa attempted an overtaking manoeuvre and rammed into the oncoming car. The impact was so severe that the front section of the car crumpled, and multiple occupants were trapped inside.
Eyewitnesses rushed to the site and alerted local police, who along with nearby residents used hydraulic cutters to extract survivors from the mangled vehicle. Emergency services transported the injured to a nearby hospital, but despite efforts, four people died on the spot.
The injured two adults and two children are in critical condition and have been admitted to the trauma unit. Police have launched an investigation into the collision, and speeding along with reckless overtaking is being examined as a likely cause.
