Jaipur, Dec 2, 2025: A night of terror gripped the Sanganer area of Jaipur after a speeding SUV, allegedly driven by an intoxicated man, rammed into multiple vehicles including a parked commercial van and a motorcycle before locals intervened and the police arrived. The incident unfolded late Monday night in Bairwa Colony, Azad Nagar.
According to police, the SUV first struck a parked “magic” vehicle near Terminal-1, after which its driver tried to flee. On its path of escape, the vehicle collided with several other cars, hit a motorcyclist whose two-wheeler got caught under the SUV’s front tyre and reportedly struck pedestrians as well. Multiple people sustained injuries.
Enraged by the chaos, local residents attacked the SUV with sticks and stones, breaking its windows. The crowd managed to surround and detain the driver, and informed the police. Responding swiftly, officers from the Sanganer Police Station rescued the driver from the mob, took the injured motorcyclist to a hospital, and seized the vehicle.
The accused has been identified as a resident of Alwar, Rajasthan. A preliminary medical examination confirmed he was intoxicated at the time of the accident. The police are continuing their investigation into the case.
This shocking event comes less than a month after a deadly crash involving a dumper truck in Jaipur’s Harmada area, which left dozens injured and many more traumatised.
