Jaipur, 23 Dec 2025: A major internal crackdown has been initiated within the Rajasthan Police after a state-wide decoy operation revealed serious negligence and alleged collusion by police personnel, leading to the removal of 11 officers from active field duties, officials confirmed on Sunday.
The surprise decoy operation was conducted under the supervision of the Rajasthan Police Headquarters to assess the integrity and responsiveness of officers deployed at sensitive locations. During the exercise, multiple personnel were found to have failed basic duty protocols, while some allegedly showed willingness to cooperate with illegal activities instead of taking lawful action.
According to senior police officials, the operation uncovered instances of dereliction of duty, lack of vigilance, and possible misconduct, prompting immediate disciplinary measures. The officers removed include personnel posted at key checkpoints and operational units across different districts.
Director General of Police Umesh Mishra (as per official statements) said the action was taken to reinforce the message that compromise on professionalism and integrity will not be tolerated. “This operation was aimed at strengthening internal accountability. Any officer found violating conduct norms will face strict consequences,” a senior official stated.
Following the findings, the Police Headquarters ordered the immediate removal of the identified officers from ground postings, and departmental inquiries have been initiated against them. Further action, including suspension and prosecution, may follow depending on the outcome of the investigations.
Officials also indicated that the decoy operation was part of an ongoing reform drive to improve public trust and curb corruption within the force. More such surprise checks are expected to be carried out across the state in the coming weeks.
The development has sparked discussion within administrative circles, with experts calling the move a strong signal of zero tolerance towards internal misconduct. Police authorities have urged citizens to report any suspicious behavior or wrongdoing by officials through official grievance and helpline channels.
The matter remains under investigation, and additional names may surface as the inquiry progresses.
