Jaipur, 17 March 2026: In a shocking incident from Rajasthan’s capital, a man allegedly murdered his wife following a domestic dispute and later attempted to mislead police by pretending to be innocent. The accused has since been arrested after confessing to the crime during interrogation.
According to police, the incident took place in the Bagru area of Jaipur, where the couple had been living in a rented house. The victim, a 26-year-old woman originally from Bihar, lived with her husband and their two young children. Both worked as daily wage labourers.
Dispute Turned Fatal
Reports suggest that frequent arguments between the couple, often linked to the husband’s alcohol consumption, had created tension in the household. On March 13, a heated argument led to physical violence, after which the woman went to stay at her sister’s house nearby.
The next day, the husband visited his sister-in-law’s home and convinced his wife to return with him after a reconciliation attempt. However, soon after reaching home, another argument broke out. In a fit of rage, the accused allegedly assaulted his wife and strangled her using her scarf.
Attempt to Mislead
After committing the crime, the accused left the house. When the victim’s sister later arrived and discovered the body, she alerted locals and police.
In a dramatic twist, the husband returned to the scene allegedly intoxicated and began acting as if he were unaware of the incident. Witnesses reported that he cried loudly and even injured himself while pretending to grieve, initially misleading authorities.
Confession and Arrest
However, police grew suspicious during the investigation. Under sustained questioning, the accused eventually broke down and confessed to killing his wife. He has since been taken into custody, and further legal proceedings are underway.

Police have sent the body for post-mortem examination and are continuing their investigation into the case. Officials confirmed that domestic violence and frequent disputes were key factors leading to the tragic incident.
