Jaipur, March 20, 2026: On the occasion of Rajasthan Day, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma flagged off 207 new Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) buses in Jaipur, marking a significant step toward strengthening public transport across the state.

The buses were launched from the Hirapura (Ajmer Road) bus terminal, with Deputy Chief Minister and Transport Minister Prem Chand Bairwa and other senior officials present at the event.
Focus on Rural and Remote Connectivity
The newly added fleet aims to improve connectivity, especially in rural and remote areas, where public transportation has traditionally been limited. Officials stated that the move will make commuting easier for students, workers, patients, and traders across the state.
Chief Minister Sharma emphasized that the government is committed to providing safe, accessible, and modern transportation facilities to citizens, adding that the new buses will enhance passenger comfort and strengthen the overall roadways network.
Fleet Composition and Features
The 207 buses include a mix of different categories to cater to diverse travel needs:
- 100 Blue Line Express buses
- 79 Star Line (non-AC) buses
- 28 Air-conditioned buses
All buses are equipped with modern safety features and improved seating arrangements, ensuring a more comfortable travel experience for passengers.
Strengthening Public Transport Infrastructure
The initiative is part of the state government’s broader plan to modernize the transport system and reduce dependence on private operators. The addition of new buses is expected to ease congestion on busy routes and improve service availability across districts.
Officials also noted that better connectivity will contribute to economic growth, as improved transport access facilitates movement for education, healthcare, and business activities in underserved regions.
Road Safety Initiative Launched
Alongside the bus launch, the Chief Minister distributed helmets to around 700 women, designating them as “Road Safety Ambassadors” to promote awareness about traffic rules and safety practices.
A Step Towards Modern and Inclusive Mobility
The induction of the new buses is seen as a major boost to Rajasthan’s public transport system, aligning with the government’s vision of affordable, safe, and efficient mobility for all.
With improved connectivity and enhanced services, the initiative is expected to significantly benefit both urban and rural populations across the state.
