Jaipur, May 21, 2026: Security agencies at Jaipur International Airport arrested three men for allegedly attempting to travel to Iraq using counterfeit tourist visas, triggering an investigation into a suspected interstate fake visa and illegal travel racket.
The arrests were made during routine immigration and document verification checks before the passengers were scheduled to board a flight to Baghdad.
Fake Visas Detected During Verification
According to police officials, airport authorities became suspicious after noticing discrepancies in the Iraqi visas presented by the passengers. During questioning, the accused reportedly appeared nervous and failed to provide satisfactory answers regarding their travel purpose and documentation.
The three accused have been identified as:
- Suresh Kumar from Uttar Pradesh
- Alok Kumar Singh from Bihar
- Rupesh Yadav from Bihar
Police later confirmed that all three were carrying forged tourist visas intended for travel to Iraq.
Agent Allegedly Arranged Fake Documents
Investigators revealed that the accused were allegedly contacted by a Jaipur-based agent identified as Mukesh Lakhar, who promised to arrange visas and overseas travel. The men reportedly arrived in Jaipur on May 17 and stayed at a hotel near the Polo Victory area before being handed the fake documents.
Police said the accused were allegedly instructed on how to answer immigration officials if questioned during the airport clearance process.
Suspicion of Larger Interstate Network
Authorities suspect the involvement of a wider network engaged in preparing forged visas and facilitating illegal foreign travel operations. Investigators are now examining financial transactions, communication records, and possible links to other agents operating across states.
Officials have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and immigration-related laws. Further investigation is underway.
Security Agencies on Alert
The incident has raised fresh concerns regarding fake travel document rackets and illegal immigration networks operating through airports. Security agencies are expected to intensify scrutiny of international travel documents and visa verification processes in the coming weeks.
