Bomb threat forces evacuation of Rajasthan High Court (Jaipur Bench); court proceedings suspended

JAIPUR, 5 Dec 2025: A bomb threat targeting the Rajasthan High Court’s Jaipur bench triggered panic on Friday morning, forcing authorities to evacuate the entire court complex and suspend all hearings for the day.

The threat prompted a heavy security response: police, bomb-disposal squads and a dog squad carried out a thorough search of the premises. No suspicious object was found during the sweep.

After the evacuation, the court administration tightened security protocols. Entry to the premises was restricted, and all individuals including lawyers, staff and visitors were subjected to rigorous security checks before being allowed near the judiciary complex.

Officials have launched a formal investigation to trace the origin of the threat and determine whether it was a hoax or part of a larger conspiracy. Meanwhile, senior court staff have urged calm and appealed for public cooperation in the security procedures.

This is the second such bomb-threat incident at the court in recent weeks. On October 31, the High Court had also received a threatening email, leading to a similar evacuation and security exercise.

As investigations proceed, hearing schedules remain suspended until further notice. Court officials say they will announce the resumption of services once they are satisfied with the security arrangements.
