Dense Fog Causes Six-Vehicle Pile-Up on Agra–Jaipur Highway; Several Injured

Jaipur, 18 Dec 2025: A major road accident occurred late Wednesday night on the Agra–Jaipur Highway as dense fog dramatically reduced visibility, causing six vehicles to collide near Kirawali town in Agra district.

According to police and eyewitness reports, the crash happened between 12:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. near the Abhuapura power house stretch of the highway when thick fog left drivers with little time to react. The collision involved two heavy trucks, two sleeper buses and two cars, all sustaining extensive damage in the impact.

Emergency responders, including the Kirawali police, reached the scene soon after being informed and worked to free trapped passengers from the wreckage. Several individuals suffered serious injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. One of the bus drivers reportedly suffered a severe leg injury in the crash.

Traffic on the busy national highway was disrupted for hours as officials coordinated to tow damaged vehicles and clear the site. Police have urged motorists to exercise greater caution in foggy conditions, advising reduced speeds and significant following distances. Authorities also recommended that drivers pull over safely and halt travel if visibility becomes too poor during dense fog.

Fog has been affecting large parts of Uttar Pradesh in recent days, contributing to multiple weather-related road accidents across the state. Separate multi-vehicle pile-ups on the Yamuna and other expressways earlier this week have resulted in dozens of casualties and prompted the state government to put safety advisories and high-alert measures in place.
