Drunk Waiter Arrested in Jaipur for Making False Bomb Threat to Police

Jaipur, 29 Dec 2025: A 28-year-old waiter was arrested early Sunday after making a hoax bomb threat call to the Jaipur police control room while allegedly under the influence of alcohol, police said. The false alert triggered a security response before investigators traced the call and detained the suspect.

The accused has been identified as Ravi Meena, a resident of Baloni village in Sapotra, Karauli district, who was working as a waiter at Hotel Raghukul in Anand Vihar, Jaipur.

False Bomb Threat Sparks Security Alert

According to police, the control room received the bomb threat call at around 3:17 a.m., in which the caller claimed that explosive devices would detonate at three locations in Jaipur, Anand Vihar in Sanganer, Jaipur Junction railway station, and Vaishali Nagar. In response, police immediately alerted field units and heightened security at all three sites.

Teams conducted thorough searches at each location, including at the busy railway junction, but no suspicious devices or explosives were found.

Suspect Traced and Arrested

Using technical surveillance and tracing methods, investigators tracked the call’s origin to Hotel Raghukul in the Anand Vihar area. Authorities detained Meena at the hotel and seized the mobile phone used to make the threatening call.

During questioning, Meena reportedly admitted to making the bomb threat while drunk. Police sources quoted him saying he was curious to see how law enforcement would respond to such a call.

Police Action and Legal Proceedings

The Jaipur police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code related to false alarms and public mischief. Meena is expected to face charges that could include penalties for causing public alarm and wasting police resources.

Authorities have also appealed to the public to avoid prank or hoax calls that can unnecessarily divert security forces and create panic among citizens.
