The state capital is all set to host the inaugural Pravasi Rajasthani Divas, a landmark event aimed at uniting Rajasthan’s global diaspora with the state’s growth narrative. The one-day gathering at the Jaipur Exhibition & Convention Centre (JECC), Sitapura, will bring together non-resident Rajasthanis (NRRs) from across India and abroad, industry leaders, policymakers, and government officials for dialogue, collaboration and celebration.
What the Day Holds
- Inauguration: The event will be inaugurated by Bhajan Lal Sharma, Chief Minister of Rajasthan. High-profile dignitaries including central ministers and senior industrialists such as Anil Agarwal (Vedanta), and Praveer Sinha (Tata Power) are expected to participate.
- Massive Participation: Over 8,700 NRRs have registered so far, representing 26 diaspora chapters from major cities in India and global hubs like Dubai, New York, Tokyo and more.
- Investment Push: The government plans to launch new investment proposals worth up to ₹1 lakh crore. A slew of new policies, including a dedicated “Pravasi Rajasthani Policy,” will be unveiled.
- Showcase & Dialogue: The event will feature a “Progress Path” exhibition to highlight Rajasthan’s development trajectory. There will be sector-specific sessions on renewable energy, education, health, mining, tourism to engage diaspora investors and stakeholders, plus an open-house session for direct dialogue.
- Recognition & Culture: Distinguished NRRs will be honoured with “Pravasi Rajasthani Samman.” The day will end with a cultural programme featuring traditional Rajasthani art, folk dance and music a celebration of roots, identity, and shared heritage.
