History-Sheeter Murder Accused Arrested in Jaipur While Disguised as Beggar

Jaipur, 22 Dec 2025: In a major breakthrough, Jaipur police have arrested a history-sheeter accused in a murder case who was on the run for months, disguising himself as a beggar to evade capture.

The accused, Deepak Malsariya, carried a reward of ₹50,000 on his head and was wanted in connection with the murder of a man identified as Dennis Bavariya in Jhunjhunu district in October this year, police said.

According to officials, Malsariya had shaved his head, donned torn clothing, and was begging near temples and public places in Jaipur to avoid detection. A tip-off from an informant alerted the police to his presence at a Hanuman temple in the city, where he was spotted sitting with a begging bowl.

Police maintained surveillance on the suspect for two days before moving in to arrest him on Sunday. He had reportedly also stayed in Delhi and Rishikesh during his time on the run, using his disguise and religious spots to blend in and escape notice.

Jhunjhunu District Superintendent of Police Brijesh Jyoti Upadhyay said Malsariya has a history of criminal cases registered against him, and that old enmity with the victim was believed to be the motive behind the murder. Investigations are ongoing, and police are interrogating the accused to uncover possible accomplices and additional details of the case.

The arrest marks a significant success for law enforcement after several months of efforts to trace the fugitive, who reportedly changed locations frequently and adopted deceptive tactics to stay hidden.
