Jaipur, 3 Dec 2025: A tragic hit-and-run incident on Saturday night near SMS Stadium on Vidhan Sabha Road left one person dead and another injured, as an SUV reportedly a Mahindra Thar sped away after colliding with a motorbike, police said.
According to preliminary reports, the bike was carrying a man and his aunt when the SUV rammed into it without warning. The impact was so severe that the man died on the spot, while the woman sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital. Eye-witnesses and bystanders immediately informed the police, who reached the spot and cordoned off the area.
The city police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for hit-and-run leaving death and grievous injuries. Authorities are scanning CCTV footage from the area and examining roadside cameras to trace the fleeing SUV. A search operation has been launched to track down the driver and bring him to justice.
Local residents expressed shock and grief. One neighbour said, “At that hour nobody expected such violence we heard a loud bang and rushed to find the bike mangled. The driver must be caught.” Many living nearby have demanded stricter patrolling and surveillance on Vidhan Sabha Road, especially at night.
Officials have urged anyone with information passers-by, motorists or CCTV owners to share footage or leads with the local police station. They also reminded commuters to stay alert and report reckless driving to help prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
