Jaipur Emerges as AI & Digital Innovation Hub: Data Centre, Youth Skilling and New AI Policy Unveiled

Jaipur, January 6, 2026: Jaipur has taken a significant leap toward becoming a major centre for artificial intelligence (AI), digital governance, and technology innovation following the Rajasthan Regional AI Impact Conference 2026 held on January 6 at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC). The event brought together leaders from government, industry, academia and the startup ecosystem to outline the state’s AI roadmap and unveil key initiatives aimed at boosting digital inclusion and skill development.

New AI-ML Policy 2026 Launched to Transform Governance and Economy

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma launched the Rajasthan Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Policy 2026, a strategic framework designed to integrate AI into public service delivery, expand e-governance, and strengthen digital infrastructure across sectors including healthcare, education, agriculture and administration. The policy aims to ensure ethical, transparent and citizen-centric use of AI, enhance administrative efficiency and support innovation-led economic growth.

“AI is no longer just a technology, but a foundation of national strength, prosperity and social development in the 21st century,” the CM said, highlighting how Rajasthan plans to leverage AI to achieve its developmental goals.

As part of the new policy, the state government also unveiled several digital initiatives, including:

  • iStart Learning Management System for skill building
  • Rajasthan AVGC-XR Portal for animation and extended reality innovation
  • Rajasthan AI Portal to support startups and researchers
    These platforms aim to democratize access to technology and encourage digital entrepreneurship across the state.

Data Centre to be Set Up in Jaipur; Skilling for 10 Lakh Youth Announced

A major highlight of the conference was the announcement by Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw that a state-of-the-art data centre will be established in Jaipur. The infrastructure is expected to bolster Rajasthan’s digital ecosystem by supporting secure data storage, real-time analytics and high-capacity processing for AI applications and e-governance. Preparatory work for the data centre, including land identification and groundwork, has already begun.

The minister also announced a nationwide AI skilling initiative, which was launched from Jaipur and aims to train 10 lakh (1 million) youth in artificial intelligence skills. This program is intended to equip young people with future-ready digital capabilities and help them secure employment in emerging technology sectors.

In addition, a collaborative effort with industry bodies will see 5,000 youths trained in electronics manufacturing, further broadening the spectrum of opportunities for students and professionals in Rajasthan.

Conference Focus: Innovation, Inclusion and AI Empowerment

The Rajasthan Regional AI Impact Conference 2026, held in conjunction with the Rajasthan DigiFest × TiE Global Summit, focused on issues such as responsible AI, public service delivery through technology, digital inclusion and the role of startups in driving innovation. Sessions explored how AI can modernize government services, enhance citizen engagement and create new avenues in sectors like fintech, agritech and healthtech.

Senior leaders from the central and state governments, industry experts and technology innovators participated in the event, underscoring Rajasthan’s ambition to position itself as a leading technology hub in India.
