Jaipur Literature Festival 2026 Set to Enthrall Readers, Boost Local Economy

Jaipur, January 13, 2026: The much-anticipated 19th edition of the Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF) is all set to begin from January 15 to 19, 2026, transforming the Pink City into a vibrant hub of words, ideas, and cultural exchange. The festival will take place at Hotel Clarks Amer in Jaipur and bring together global thinkers, authors, poets, translators, publishers and industry leaders for five days of engaging conversations and literary celebration.

Now widely recognised as the world’s largest free literary festival, JLF will feature an expansive programme of discussions, debates, readings, book launches, masterclasses and cultural events spanning literature, art, science, technology, social issues and more. Registration for attendees is open through the official festival portal.

A highlight of this year’s edition is Jaipur BookMark (JBM) South Asia’s premier B2B publishing platform which runs alongside the main festival. JBM will host publishers, authors, literary agents, booksellers and translators from across the world to explore emerging trends, international collaborations and innovations transforming the global publishing landscape.

Star-Studded Lineup of Speakers
The festival is expected to host a distinguished roll-call of speakers and cultural icons. Internationally acclaimed figures alongside celebrated Indian writers and artists will participate in over hundreds of sessions that probe the stories behind books and the ideas that shape societies.

Economic Impact and Tourism Boost
Beyond its cultural significance, the festival has become a major economic catalyst for Jaipur. According to Sanjoy K. Roy, Managing Director of Teamwork Arts, JLF’s 2026 edition is projected to generate an economic impact of over ₹100 crore, engaging nearly 2,000 professionals in production, hospitality, logistics, and allied sectors, while partnering with some 60 regional businesses in crafts, food, décor and merchandise.

The event has also emerged as an important driver of tourism for the state. Industry partners note a significant increase in repeat visitors to Rajasthan during the festival period, underscoring its role as a “brand ambassador” for the region’s rich cultural heritage.

Celebrating Regional Languages and Literature
The 2026 JLF will spotlight diverse linguistic and cultural voices. Among the notable features is the presentation of the Mahakavi Kanhaiyalal Sethia Award for Poetry to Yatinder Mishra in honour of his contributions to Hindi and Rajasthani literature. Meanwhile, Jaipur BookMark will place a special emphasis on Marathi language, translation work, and the evolving influence of artificial intelligence in publishing.

As Jaipur prepares to welcome bibliophiles, creators and curious minds from India and abroad, the Jaipur Literature Festival 2026 promises to be a celebration of storytelling, dialogue and shared imagination, reaffirming its place as one of the most influential cultural festivals on the global literary calendar.
