Jaipur Police Foil Gang War, Arrest Six Armed Suspects

Jaipur, 5 Dec 2025: In a major success for law enforcement, Jaipur police intervened just in time to halt what could have escalated into a full-blown gang war. On Sunday night, a team from Ramnagariya police station apprehended six men carrying weapons, who had allegedly gathered for a violent clash linked to a territorial rivalry.

According to officials, the arrests followed a tip-off from DST constables Rajesh and Neeraj, who alerted officers about suspicious activity in the city’s eastern region. Acting swiftly, police surrounded the area and detained the suspects before any violence could unfold.

Upon search, the police recovered three country-made pistols, another firearm, 29 live cartridges, two empty magazines along with a black car used by the group.

Preliminary investigations suggest the group had assembled to retaliate in an ongoing turf war involving rival factions operating in neighbourhoods including Ramnagariya, Pratap Nagar, Khoh Nagoriyan, Kanota, Bassi, and Shivdaspura. One faction is reportedly led by a youth who runs a cricket ground in Sitapura, while their rivals are believed to be based in Mendla village. Tensions escalated after an alleged assault on December 2, prompting plans for violent retaliation.

The arrested individuals have been identified as:

  • Khalid Khan (24), resident of Manoharpura Kachchi Basti, Jagatpura
  • Mahendra Singh Gurjar alias “Mahi Gurjar” (22), originally from Bamanwas, Sawai Madhopur also wanted in a kidnapping case
  • Girdhari Mirota (27) of Lalsot, Dausa
  • Ravi Gurjar (20) of Shishyawas, Ramnagariya
  • Hanif Mev (23) a resident of Nuh, Haryana, currently living in Sitapura
  • Nitin Ghiya (23) of Model Town Colony, Jamdoli

All six are currently under interrogation as police probe the source of the weapons, the motive behind the gathering, and possible linkages to a broader criminal network.

The swift action prevented a violent confrontation and potentially saved lives. The police have reiterated their commitment to staying vigilant, especially in the face of rising criminal gang activity in the city.
