Over 43,000 Litres of Suspected Adulterated Ghee Seized in Jaipur; Food Safety Action Underway

Jaipur, January 30, 2026: In a major crackdown as part of the ongoing ‘Pure Food – War on Adulteration’ campaign, the Rajasthan Food Safety Department on Thursday seized a total of 43,421 litres of suspected adulterated ghee from warehouses in Jaipur.

The action was taken against M/s Giridhar Milk Food Product, operating under the Bhog Vinayak brand, and Shri Shyam Milk Food Product after earlier laboratory tests conducted in Pratapgarh district found samples of Bhog Vinayak ghee to be unsafe for consumption.

Food Safety Commissioner Dr. T. Shubhamangala said the inspection team discovered that the firm was conducting operations from a different location than the one listed on its food licence, a violation of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

During the raid in Shyam Vihar Colony, Macheda, authorities inspected three warehouses linked to the two companies and found large stocks of ghee in various brand names:

  • Bhog Vinayak brand: 9,065 litres
  • Haryana Cream brand: 17,741 litres
  • Naksh Dairy brand: 16,617 litres
    (Total: 43,421 litres)

Samples of all seized stock have been taken for further laboratory testing. Officials said the entire batch was sealed on the spot, and further legal action will be initiated based on the test results.

Additional Commissioner Bhagwat Singh noted that after the initial unsafe report on Bhog Vinayak ghee, orders were issued for its immediate recall from the market statewide. Proceedings have also begun to cancel the food licences of the errant firm due to multiple regulatory violations.

The raid highlights intensified efforts by Rajasthan authorities to clamp down on adulterated food products and protect consumer health.
