Jaipur, 9 Dec 2025: The city of Jaipur is gearing up to host the maiden edition of Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas on December 10, bringing together prominent industrialists, Non-Resident Rajasthanis (NRRs), civil servants of Rajasthani origin and global professionals in a sprawling celebration of the state’s diaspora.
In the lead-up to the event, the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has launched an extensive city-wide cleanliness and beautification drive. Teams have been deployed to clean major thoroughfares, restore heritage gates, and remove illegal posters, flex-boards and encroachments across more than 60 locations including the Walled City, Janpath and Statue Circle.
Simultaneously, the state government has formalised a restructuring of its diaspora outreach framework: the earlier NRI department has been renamed Department of Domestic & Overseas Rajasthani Affairs (DORA), now tasked with handling both overseas and internal diaspora affairs from investment facilitation to diaspora-oriented policies and events.
Officials said the event aims not just to celebrate Rajasthani expatriates, but also to attract investments and convert goodwill into tangible development. On the agenda are new investment proposals, networking sessions and a renewed push to engage diaspora professionals in the state’s growth story.
With the city spruced up and infrastructural signalling underway, Jaipur hopes to present itself as a welcoming, modern and opportunity-rich capital just in time to host the diaspora for this landmark event.
