Jaipur, January 16, 2026: President of India Smt Droupadi Murmu arrived in Jaipur today on a one-day official visit to participate in a special religious event and observe heightened security and traffic management across key city routes.

As part of her two-day tour of Punjab and Rajasthan, the President is scheduled to take part in the concluding ceremony of the 1008 Kundiya Hanuman Mahayagya at the Neendar Housing Scheme, Harmada, organised by the Ramanand Mission. The event also marks the birth anniversary of Jagadguru Rambhadracharya, drawing large numbers of devotees and dignitaries.

President Murmu landed at Jaipur International Airport at 1:40 p.m. and was received by senior officials. She then proceeded by road to Lok Bhavan, Civil Lines, where a scheduled programme was held before heading towards Harmada to attend the religious ceremony in the afternoon.

Multiple security measures and logistical arrangements were put in place ahead of her visit, with traffic diversions and route closures announced by the Jaipur City Police and traffic authorities to ensure smooth movement of the presidential convoy. Motorists were advised of temporary road closures and advised to use alternative routes to avoid delays.

Traffic restrictions were implemented on New Sanganer Road, Expressway, Sikar Road and other major junctions along the President’s route. Heavy vehicles on Ajmer Road and Sikar Road were rerouted to minimise congestion, while provisions were made to ensure uninterrupted movement for emergency services.

The religious programme, which has been underway since early January, has created a vibrant spiritual atmosphere in the Neendar area, with thousands of devotees expected to attend. President Murmu’s participation adds significant national prominence to the celebrations.

After completing the event, the President is expected to depart Jaipur later this evening and return to Delhi, concluding her official tour. Authorities have urged citizens to cooperate with traffic advisories to ensure smooth conduct of the visit and avoid inconvenience.
