Jaipur, January 27, 2026: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for hailstorm and rain accompanied by thunderstorms in parts of Rajasthan, as a Western Disturbance impacts the state’s weather, bringing sudden changes including rainfall and cooler conditions.
According to the latest update, rain and hailstorm warnings have been sounded for several districts, including Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, Sikar, Bharatpur and Dausa. These areas are expected to experience intermittent rains with possible hail in the coming hours, with wind speeds predicted to reach 30–40 km/hour in some regions.
Met officials have advised residents to exercise caution during thunderstorms and to avoid taking shelter under trees due to the risk posed by strong winds and lightning.
Reports of rainfall and hail-like showers have already emerged in parts of the state, including Sikar, Baran, Sawai Madhopur and Neemkathana, as the Western Disturbance pushes moist winds across northern India, leading to unstable weather conditions.
The sudden shift in weather marks a significant departure from the dry and cold conditions that have prevailed across much of the region in recent weeks, with farmers and citizens alike adjusting to the unexpected drop in temperatures and wet conditions.
State authorities continue to monitor the situation, urging people, especially those travelling, to stay updated on local forecasts and follow safety advisories issued by the IMD.
