Jaipur, January 26, 2026: Rajasthan marked the 77th Republic Day with grand celebrations across Jaipur on Monday as the state paid tribute to the Constitution of India, honoured its martyrs, and reaffirmed commitments to democratic values and public service. The day’s events saw participation from senior political figures, government officials, security personnel, and citizens in a series of patriotic programmes.
Flag Hoisting and State Ceremony at SMS Stadium
The main state-level Republic Day function was held at Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Stadium, where Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde unfurled the National Flag in the presence of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully, legislative leaders, Cabinet members and other dignitaries. After the national anthem, the Governor inspected the parade and took the salute as contingents of security forces marched past in disciplined formation.
Addressing the gathering, Gov. Bagde described Republic Day as an opportunity to “reaffirm unwavering faith in the great traditions, fundamental principles and ideals of the Constitution” and highlighted efforts underway in sectors such as education, health, agriculture, energy, roads and industrial development. He also emphasised the government’s focus on employment generation and administrative accountability.
Honouring Bravehearts and Public Service
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma honoured state employees for outstanding service and paid homage to martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation. In a solemn tribute at the Amar Jawan Jyoti memorial in Jaipur, the Chief Minister laid a floral wreath and observed a moment of silence for the country’s fallen heroes, expressing deep gratitude for their sacrifice.
Earlier in the morning, Sharma unfurled the national flag at his official residence and received the salute from a contingent of the Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC), extending warm Republic Day greetings to the people of the state and honouring freedom fighters and architects of the Constitution.
Cultural Displays and Public Enthusiasm
The SMS Stadium ceremony featured colourful cultural performances by folk artists, reflecting Rajasthan’s rich heritage and traditions. Various departments, police units and other contingents participated in the parade, presenting an impressive tableau of discipline and unity. Across Jaipur, flag-hoisting ceremonies were also held at government offices, educational institutions and residential colonies, accompanied by patriotic songs and cultural programmes.
