Jaipur, 4 Dec 2025: Responding to the mounting pressure on its emergency services, SMS Hospital has unveiled a new night Out-Patient Department (OPD) to serve non-critical patients during evening hours. The initiative is intended to decongest the 24/7 emergency unit and improve patient care for routine consultations.

In 2024 alone, the outpatient department reportedly treated 31.6 lakh patients a significant rise compared to the previous year. This surge has underscored systemic strain and prompted the administration to explore measures like segregated OPDs, token systems, and now, an evening OPD.
