Jaipur, 26 Dec 2025: Promising batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi was rushed to a hospital in Jaipur on Friday after sustaining a serious neck injury during his team’s Vijay Hazare Trophy match, cricket officials confirmed.
Raghuvanshi, who was playing in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, suffered the injury while fielding in the outfield during his side’s game at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. The exact moment of the incident saw the young cricketer dive to stop a boundary-bound ball when he collided awkwardly with the ground, resulting in severe pain and restricted movement in his neck.
Medical staff from the ground immediately attended to Raghuvanshi and, following an initial assessment, decided he needed further evaluation at a nearby hospital. He was subsequently taken to a local medical facility in Jaipur, where doctors conducted detailed tests, including scans to rule out any serious spinal or neurological damage.
Team officials said that while Raghuvanshi’s condition was being closely monitored, preliminary reports suggested there was no immediate risk of long-term damage. He was kept under observation for further evaluation, including possible cervical imaging, to determine the full extent of the injury.
The management also confirmed that Raghuvanshi was conscious and communicative after the incident, though he remained in discomfort due to stiffness and pain in his neck. At the time of reporting, specialists were expected to review his progress over the next 24–48 hours before any decision on his fitness to travel or return to cricketing activity is made.
The injury has come as an unfortunate setback for the player and his team in the midst of a busy domestic season. Fellow teammates and coaching staff expressed support for Raghuvanshi, hoping for a quick recovery and return to action once cleared by medical professionals.
No further updates on his condition were available at press time, and team management said they would provide more information as it becomes available.
