Jaipur, 24 Dec 2025: A woman’s body was discovered wrapped in plastic bags and a blanket in the porch of a house in Shastri Nagar here on Wednesday, prompting a murder investigation by city police. Authorities have since arrested a suspect in connection with the case.
The grim discovery was made in the Shastri Nagar area, where locals noticed a suspicious bundle lying at the entrance of a residential compound and alerted police. On inspection, officers found it to be the body of a woman, tightly wrapped in multiple plastic bags and covered with a blanket.
A police team rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area, initiating forensic and crime scene procedures. Preliminary observations indicated signs of foul play, prompting investigators to register a murder case.
According to senior police officials, the victim has been identified as a resident of Jaipur, although her exact identity is yet to be officially confirmed as formal post-mortem and identification processes continue. Preliminary reports suggest injuries consistent with assault, reinforcing the suspicion of homicide.
Acting on leads and witness statements, Jaipur police arrested a man believed to be involved in the crime, whose name and further details have not yet been disclosed pending ongoing investigation. The suspect was taken into custody late Wednesday evening, and further interrogation is underway to establish the motive and sequence of events leading to the woman’s death.
