Speeding Thar Crashes Into Four Vehicles Outside Jaipur Assembly; No Casualties Reported

Jaipur, January 27, 2026: A speeding Mahindra Thar SUV collided with four vehicles outside the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly in Jaipur on Monday night, causing extensive damage to the cars but, fortunately, no injuries or loss of life were reported, police said.

According to eyewitnesses, the white Thar was heading towards the area near Rajasthan University and Amar Jawan Jyoti when it lost control and rammed into the stationary and moving vehicles one after another. The impact was severe enough to badly damage all four cars involved.

Multiple people at the scene recorded the chaotic moments and shared videos on social media soon after the incident. The driver, identified as a young man named Bharat from Ajmer, was reportedly talking on his mobile phone before the crash, which may have contributed to the loss of control, witnesses said.

Police Action and Investigation

Jyoti Nagar police reached the spot shortly after the accident and took control of the situation. The damaged Thar has been seized by police, and the driver is being questioned as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities are reviewing statements and evidence to determine the exact cause of the crash.

Officials also noted that this was the fourth Thar-related accident in Jaipur in the past month, highlighting growing concerns over reckless driving involving such vehicles in the city.

Public Reaction

Local residents expressed relief that no one was hurt, even as they criticized drivers for negligent behaviour and disturbing traffic safety. Police have assured strict action against any traffic violations uncovered during the investigation.
