Jaipur, March 22, 2026: In a shocking incident that has raised serious concerns over urban safety, two IT company owners were allegedly kidnapped in Jaipur and held hostage for nearly 11 hours before being released in the Galta forest area, police said.
According to reports, the victims, identified as Rahul and Dinesh, residents of Jagatpura, were lured into a meeting on the pretext of a cryptocurrency (USDT) investment opportunity on the evening of March 19. When they reached the तय location, a group of 6–7 masked assailants forcibly abducted them and took them away in a vehicle.
During captivity, the accused used the victims’ mobile phones to contact their family members and demanded a ransom of ₹1 crore for their release. The family promptly informed the police, who began tracking the suspects while coordinating a controlled response.
Police sources revealed that the kidnappers kept moving across multiple locations in and around Jaipur, including areas such as Goner, Hingonia, and Bassi in an attempt to evade capture. However, sustained pressure from law enforcement, aided by mobile tracking and GPS data from the vehicle, forced the abductors to abandon their plan.
The victims were eventually released early the next morning, approximately 11 hours after the abduction in the Galta forest region. The accused fled the scene, leaving the victims behind along with the vehicle.
Investigators have since identified the vehicle as a rental car, and multiple police teams have been formed to trace and apprehend the suspects. Forensic teams have also collected evidence from key locations linked to the case.
Officials say the incident highlights a growing trend of criminals using investment scams, particularly involving cryptocurrency, as bait to target victims. Authorities have urged citizens to exercise caution when dealing with unknown investment offers.
The investigation is ongoing, and police have assured that the accused will be arrested soon.
