Jaipur Metro Phase-II Gains Momentum: ₹918 Crore Contract Awarded for Key Corridor Development

Jaipur, May 4, 2026: In a major boost to urban infrastructure, the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation has awarded a ₹918 crore contract for the development of a crucial section of the Jaipur Metro Phase-II project, marking significant progress in expanding the city’s rapid transit network.

Major Contract Awarded for Construction

Infrastructure firm Ceigall India, in a joint venture, has secured the contract for design and construction works under Phase-II. The project includes building an elevated viaduct and around 10 metro stations as part of the corridor expansion.

Officials stated that the total contract value stands at approximately ₹918 crore, with an estimated execution timeline of around 34 months.

10–12 Km Corridor to Enhance Connectivity

The awarded package covers a stretch of roughly 10–12 kilometres, forming an important segment of the upcoming metro corridor.

This corridor is expected to significantly improve connectivity across Jaipur, easing traffic congestion and providing faster, more efficient public transport options for residents.

Part of Larger ₹13,000+ Crore Metro Expansion

Jaipur Metro Phase-II is part of a much larger infrastructure initiative approved by the central government, with a total estimated cost of over ₹13,000 crore. The full project includes a 41-km North–South corridor with 36 stations, connecting key areas such as Sitapura, VKI, Jaipur Airport, and major city hubs.

The project is being implemented by Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation as a joint venture between the central and Rajasthan governments.

Experts believe the Phase-II expansion will play a crucial role in transforming Jaipur’s urban mobility by:

  • Reducing traffic congestion
  • Improving last-mile connectivity
