Jaipur, February 6, 2026: An Air India flight from Mumbai to Jaipur was forced to abort its first landing attempt at Jaipur International Airport on Thursday afternoon, officials said. The aircraft, operating as flight AI-2781, executed a standard safety manoeuvre known as a go-around after an unstable approach, before safely touching down on its second attempt.

The flight approached Jaipur at around 1:10 p.m. when the pilot, detecting an unstable approach during the final phase of landing, chose to pull up shortly after the wheels touched the runway. Instead of continuing the touchdown, the aircraft climbed back into the air and circled the airport for approximately 10 to 11 minutes as crew prepared for a second landing.
Airport officials confirmed that the aircraft made a second, successful landing at about 1:21 p.m. and that all passengers and crew disembarked without injury. There were no technical issues reported after the safe touchdown.
The sudden manoeuvre caused some momentary anxiety among passengers, though safety experts and aviation authorities emphasised that go-arounds are routine safety procedures used globally to ensure the aircraft’s stability when landing conditions are not deemed optimal.
Jaipur International Airport has seen several similar go-around incidents and challenging landings in recent weeks, often attributed to changing weather conditions and approach adjustments, prompting crews to exercise extra caution during landings.
Air India and airport officials have not released further comments about any specific technical factors that may have contributed to the unstable approach, but stressed that passenger safety remained the top priority throughout the entire event.
