The incident occurred at around 12:30 pm when the duo, wearing helmets, entered the small banking kiosk posing as ordinary customers. Eyewitnesses said that almost immediately after entering, one of the men pulled out a pistol and threatened the kiosk operator, identified as Hemant Kapoor, before snatching a cash-filled bag containing approximately ₹1.20 lakh in notes.
