Jaipur Woman Arrested by Rajasthan ATS Over Alleged Links to Pakistan-Based Jaish-e-Mohammed

Jaipur, June 22: The Rajasthan Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested a 30-year-old woman from Jaipur on allegations of maintaining links with Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). The arrest follows an investigation into her suspected online activities and alleged contacts with individuals linked to extremist networks across the border.

According to officials, the woman was taken into custody after intelligence agencies and the ATS conducted a detailed inquiry into her digital communications and social media activity. Investigators claim that the probe uncovered alleged connections with individuals associated with Pakistan-based extremist organizations.

Authorities stated that the woman had reportedly come under surveillance after suspicious online interactions were flagged during routine monitoring. Preliminary findings allegedly suggested communication with foreign contacts, prompting a deeper investigation by security agencies.

Officials further alleged that the accused had been in touch with individuals linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed and had engaged in activities that raised concerns regarding national security. Investigators are also examining claims that she underwent a religious conversion process facilitated by a Pakistan-based cleric and maintained regular contact with overseas associates through digital platforms.

According to the ATS, the woman allegedly received a marriage proposal from a Pakistani national and was planning to travel abroad. Authorities are investigating whether these interactions had any connection to the broader allegations being examined in the case.

The accused has been booked under relevant provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and other applicable laws. Officials said electronic devices, communication records, and digital evidence recovered during the investigation are being analyzed to determine the full extent of the alleged network and activities.

Security agencies emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing and that further arrests or actions cannot be ruled out if additional evidence emerges. Officials are also coordinating with central intelligence agencies to verify international links and assess any potential security implications.

The arrest has drawn significant attention given Rajasthan’s strategic location along India’s western border. Security experts note that agencies have intensified monitoring of online radicalization, cross-border communication channels, and suspected recruitment efforts by extremist organizations in recent years.

Authorities have urged the public to avoid speculation and rely on verified information as the investigation progresses. They reiterated that the allegations are currently under examination and that the judicial process will determine the outcome of the case.

The development underscores the growing focus of security agencies on digital surveillance and counter-terrorism operations as authorities seek to identify and prevent activities considered a threat to national security. Further details are expected to emerge as investigators continue questioning the accused and examining the evidence collected during the probe.
