Winter Eases Across Rajasthan; Daytime Temperatures Rise, Clouds Return – IMD Forecast

Jaipur, February 12,2026: Winter appears to be losing its grip across Rajasthan as daytime temperatures steadily rise and skies become partly cloudy, according to the latest weather updates and India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts. Dry conditions are expected to continue over most parts of the state in the coming days, though night-time cold will still persist in some regions.

As of Thursday, several cities in Rajasthan have recorded daytime temperatures exceeding 30 °C, a notable increase for mid-February. In western parts of the state such as Barmer and Jaisalmer, peak readings have reached around 31–32 °C, while Jaipur has been experiencing warm afternoon conditions prompting residents to shed heavy winter clothing during the day.

Meteorologists say that this warming trend is typical for February, when Rajasthan gradually transitions from winter to pre-summer conditions. Jaipur’s temperatures in February generally range from comfortable to warm, with historical averages placing daily highs between about 25 °C and 28 °C and minimum night temperatures near 10–15 °C.

Forecast: Dry Days Ahead with Warm Sunshine

According to the IMD’s extended forecast and weather data:

  • Most districts of Rajasthan are likely to see dry weather through the middle of the month. Rainfall is not expected, and western disturbances will have limited impact.
  • Night temperatures will remain relatively low in northern and interior regions, though the contrast between warmer days and chilly mornings continues.
  • Cloud development has been reported in pockets of the state, raising the possibility of transient overcast skies, but significant rain is not forecasted at this time.

Regional Variations Persist

While the overall trend is toward warmer days:

  • Northern and eastern districts may still experience cold mornings and nights, especially where clear skies allow temperatures to dip sharply.
  • Western and southern Rajasthan have shifted more fully into the warmer pattern, with late-winter sunshine bringing daytime warmth.

What Residents Should Expect

Weather officials advise that:

  • Daytime warmth will be predominant across cities such as Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Ajmer, encouraging outdoor activities during afternoons.
  • Chilly early mornings will remain, particularly in areas like Sikar, Churu, and Shekhawati, where cold conditions may linger before sunrise.

This evolving pattern signals a gradual end to the peak winter phase in Rajasthan, though transitional weather with varied temperatures between day and night is expected to continue through February.
